Guardian IOP is an Intensive Outpatient Program where we offer comprehensive gender-specific and age-specific treatment programs for adults recovering from substance abuse. While Intensive Outpatient Programs are not for everyone, for some they offer a necessary balance that includes the ability to return home each evening, maintain visits to the office or workplace, and/or continue care for family members, all alongside structure and programming similar to residential treatment facilities.

Choosing an IOP can, in some cases, be a much less expensive option than residential treatment by reducing the room and board costs of residential facilities and allowing patients to continue to work. That being said, Guardian IOP programs may still be covered by your Molina Healthcare insurance. In some cases, an outpatient program is preferred or even required before an insurance provider will extend coverage for residential treatment. To find out exactly what your benefits cover, contact a Guardian IOP Treatment Advisor today. We will determine if intensive outpatient treatment is right for you, what your specific insurance benefits will cover, and what your out of pocket expenses may look like.

Cost should never be a barrier to life-changing treatment, which is why we accept most insurance plans, including Molina Healthcare. At Guardian IOP, Molina is just one of many insurance providers we work with to ensure an affordable, stress-free recovery strategy is in place. Molina Healthcare has been insuring those who qualify for Medicaid and Medicare since 1980 and offers additional coverage for a wide range of personal issues through Molina Behavioral Health. Your Molina policy may operate under a different brand name depending on the state in which your plan originated. Today, Molina covers close to 2 million Americans in almost twenty states, and in some states, even offers plans through the healthcare marketplace.

Our Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services Include

Your Molina Healthcare plan may cover the cost of some, or all, treatments associated with your Guardian IOP treatment plan, including group and individual therapy, family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy, as well as relapse prevention training. Molina Behavioral Health programs typically cover Intensive Outpatient Programs such as psychological and social assessments, monitoring and treatment planning, and education and counseling on maintaining recovery. In addition to your substance abuse treatment, you may seek counseling for a variety of stressful and challenging co-occurring situations including depression, PTSD, anxiety, anger issues, or with loss and grief. Your Molina Behavioral Health benefits are designed to cover these programs as well. Molina Behavioral Health plans cover care under the direction of licensed social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners in addition to medical doctors.

All health plans will vary depending on the state of origination. In addition, each plan will have differing deductible, copayment and coinsurance amounts. Your deductible is the amount you must pay out of pocket before your insurance benefits apply. Once the deductible has been met, coinsurance amounts dictate which percentage of the remaining costs Molina will cover. A copayment is a one-time fee for any service or medication. Each of these amounts can be found through the Molina website, or by calling the number on the back of your membership card. You may also call us at any time for this same information, by speaking with a Guardian IOP Treatment Advisor.

Some Intensive Outpatient Program services may require pre-authorization by Molina Healthcare before benefits can be paid out. Routine services such as individual and family therapy or psychiatric medication management normally do not require pre-authorization. The details of your individualized treatment plan and the length of your time in the program will also contribute to costs that are unique to you. Molina will assign you a case manager to coordinate care across specialists and facilities as needed, and we will work closely with your assigned case manager to ensure your Molina Healthcare benefits are maximized.
