Both individual and group therapy sessions are essential to effective addiction recovery. Clients have access to at least one one-on-one therapy session every week, where they will delve deeper into their personal experiences with substance abuse, explore any unique challenges that they might face in early recovery and work through any underlying issues. Group therapy sessions take place every day that the outpatient program meets, and explore a wide range of pertinent recovery-related topics. Some of the topics that are covered in our group therapy sessions include addiction education, how to work through triggering situations, the development of crucial life skills, 12-step program immersion and much more. Group therapy sessions are demographic-specific, and are broken down by age and gender allowing for a more focused treatment experience.
Yoga therapy is often utilized as a complementary treatment method, when that can be highly effective when combined with an intensive therapeutic program of addiction recovery. Men and women who make a near-daily yoga practice part of their comprehensive recovery program experience a wide range of benefits, including pain relief, stress relief, increased physical strength, increased self-awareness, improved self-confidence and an overall improvement of health and wellness. At Guardian IOP we have several licensed yoga therapists on staff, who lead therapeutic yoga classes that focus on comprehensive physical, mental and emotional healing.
