Substance abuse and dependence affects people in different ways. Because of this, addiction recovery should never be a one-size-fits-all process, and should always be individualized to fit the unique needs and requirements of each specific client. Some individuals require an intensive and long-term program of care – this is generally the case when the substance abuse disorder is moderate or severe. Other clients might require a less intensive level of clinical care, or a level of care that includes more flexibility and a greater amount of personal freedom. An intensive outpatient treatment program is an effective form of addiction treatment in which clients visit the treatment facility for several hours at a time, typically five days a week (Monday through Friday). IOP programs are more intensive than outpatient programs, though they allow a greater amount of flexibility seeing as clients return home every evening.
At Guardian IOP we offer Intensive Outpatient treatment programs in Florida and New Jersey. Our programs are comprehensive and individualized, and consist of a combination of individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy as well as additional recovery-related services like 12-step program immersion, relapse prevention training and employment assistance. Our IOP program generally lasts for three full months, and are well-suited for men and women who have less severe substance abuse disorders, no underlying mental health concerns and solid support systems in place.
